Description: 

Due to continued growth, Braam’s Custom Cabinets is looking for a Delivery Driver/ General Labourer to join our team in St. Thomas, ON. This is a full-time position and is composed of a mix of General Labour (heavy lifting, some manufacturing, maintenance, etc), and Driving. The per centage mix will vary from week to week depending on the delivery and installation schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and drive vans and light trucks to deliver cabinetry
  • Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle
  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
  • Ensure correct loading of vehicle and that the load is properly fastened down and secure
  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road
  • Unload materials at delivery sites and place materials in buildings as directed by Site Supervisor or written directions
  • Loading and unloading products in a safe manner, using provided tools as appropriate (e.g. dollies, lifts, etc.)
  • Be able to climb stairs while carrying heavy loads
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems encountered
  • Complete all cross-border documentation accurately
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
  • Provide feedback to supervisor regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
  • Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, customs, etc.
  • Other general labour duties as assigned in the manufacturing plant
Requirements: 
  • Valid G Driver's License with Clean Driver's Abstract
  • Must be of insurable age
  • Delivery Driver experience an asset
  • High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic
  • Professional/mature demeanor
  • Be in possession of a valid and current Canadian Passport
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work with little supervision
  • Heavy lifting required; must be able to lift 60 to 80lbs regularly
