Description: 

Our team is looking for a hardworking dental assistant. Newly graduates are welcome. We typically put our new DA teammates as chairside but we are flexible with different roles within the office like float and admin if it's desired. The role of the Certified Dental Assistant at our practice is to support all providers with a smooth daily patient flow. Below are a general list of clinical duties.

• Cleaning, sterilizing, and lubricating of dental instruments and hand pieces
• Stock DDS treatment rooms
• Erasing digital x-ray films when plates are used
• Daily flushing of treatment room hoses
• Setting up and closing sterilization area
• Following and supporting sundries re-order process for clinical supplies
• Chart auditing for next day associate patients (regardless of your patients)
• Reviewing your clinically scheduled days at least one week in advance to ensure a manageable flow
• Perform care calls for same day and previous day’s patients in cooperation with the dentists
• Treatment room floor maintenance in between janitor visits
• I.O.C. photos, based on protocol
• Patient Photography as per protocol
• Input updated or new radiographs when prescribed
• Greet and welcome patients personally in greeting area
• Explanation of treatment to patients if Treatment Coordinator not available
• Promoting McFarlane Family Dental treatment services to new and existing patients
• Treating all new patients based on McFarlane Family Dental ’s philosophy
• Making patients feel comfortable Patient seating, draping, and placing of protective eyewear in preparation for the provider’s entry
• Patient education including treatment needs and homecare
• Clear and detailed progress noting within patient chart in practice management system.
• Chair side assisting for clinical procedures
• Aiding patient flow and keeping the schedule on track
• Assisting in four handed dentistry
• Mixing of clinical materials
• Daily Day end Reports
• Daily completion of DDS Daily Stats Monitor

• Posting patient billings ensuring associate review prior to patient exit of treatment room
• Reviewing and certifying all clinical notes 7 days following patient appointment
• Book next visit, if necessary
• Maintaining failed, short notice change appointments and ASAP list
• Adjusting patient status in practice management system for providers
• Updating patient grades
• Ensuring lab cases are back on time
• Updating medical histories at every visit
